Unity Transfer to External Fails if +E164 Number is Escaped

A word of warning on Unity and plus dialling with transfers…

Was implementing an after-hours service with Call Handlers, and needed to route a call back to CUCM using a Unity Transfer.  I set this up and copy/pasted the extension I wanted to route to:
Capture123

The call never routed…  Was just dropped without any error message, and I noted normal call clearing when pulling an ISDN debug from the site gateway when making an inbound call to test.

Ended up being that Unity doesn’t have GUI validation on the “\” char… but it doesn’t route the call either.

Make sure you use only the extension “+15556667777” instead.  It’s an easy error to make and can be a pain to troubleshoot…
